Our visit to Variani was a pleasant experience for us. Apart from the fact that we met beautiful people, wonderful landscapes , we met genteel Nancy Papaprokopiou . Despite her young age, Nancy decided , after completing her studies , to return to her roots , to the place of her parents . She gave us an interesting tour of the village and she entertained us at the cafe "The School", which is hers. The building was previously the actual village school , however , it was decided to close because there were no children in order to set it in use. So after being renovated began operating as a traditional cafe.

The new magazine CYCLOΦΟΡΩ in its first issue, which is released in kiosks, presented the Bike Odyssey. This important cycling event was presented in two pages.

  Athletes and guests of "Galatas Race 2014" which is to be held on February the 22nd and 23rd, will have the opportunity to attend a first presentation of the 8-day race Bike Odyssey. This is a first presentation of the toughest mountain bike race in the audience of mountain bike, with all the details and visuals of the new edition of the race. The public will get a glimpse of what is included in 8-day version , 3-Day Odyssey and the one-day Laista Circuit and 1-Day Odyssey.

    A documentary about the toughest Mtb race will be shot during the stages of Bike Odyssey. The unique landscapes of Pindos in conjunction with the racing action will provide the appropriate material to film. The video recording will start from the stage of preparation and will cover all stages of the race. Apart from the racing action, the documentary will capture the natural beauty of Greece , picturesque mountain villages , traditions and culture , contributing to the promotion of the country abroad!

Bike Odyssey's participants will get to know the mountainous Greece and will admire its natural beauty as well as enjoy the unique flavors! Pindos Mountains are known for their fertile slopes, valleys and natural pastures that give locals pure ingredients to produce a wide variety of products.

The team "1000 Dendra" comes from Thessaloniki and is represented this year - for the second consecutive year - by Frangoulis George and Samoladas Anthonios.
The group has already given sample of its abilities in mtb in last year's race where they excelled, winning 2nd place overall. Having the experience of the race, they aim at even better performance!

Dionyssopoulos Michael and Douvikas Konstantinos are both athletes with great mountain experience. With years of participation in Mtb, adventure, endurance races etc. and many awards! Their team is definitely one of the strongest entries of the race.
