Kato Tithorea

Kato Tithorea is a town of the prefecture of Fthiotida and the capital of the expanded Municipality of Amfiklia - Elatia. It is built on the eastern slopes of Mount Parnassus, at an altitude of 440 meters, on the paths of which the mythical Odysseus hunted wild boars with his grandfather, Autolykos,.

Bike Odyssey will pass through some villages in area of Kato Tthorea. Some of them are Tithorea (formerly known as Velitsa) and Agia Marina, where the athletes and visitors of the race will have the chance to admire the monastery of Panagia Odigitria and the historic monastery of Agia Marina. At the same time, the participants will be able to rejuvenate themselves from the running cool waters of the springs of Parnassus.

In addition, contestants will be able to explore the ruins of ancient Tithorea between the houses of the settlement of Tithorea, as well as the cave in which the lion of Roumeli, Odysseus Androutsos, lived and acted during the Greek Revolution.

Finally, the bust of Philopoimin Finos in the central square of the village of Kato Tithorea, the great producer of Greek cinema and founder of the historic Finos Film, could not be unmentioned. From this square the final stage of the race will begin.
