Gravia is also placed in Fokida region. It is built at 400m altitude at the northeast of the province, at the foot of Mount Parnassos. In ancient times the area of Gravia was located within the boundaries of ancient Dorida. Gravia is placed near many ancient cities such as Kitinion or Erineos ancient city. It is a historical village, where Odysseus Androutsos a hero of the 1821 revolution against the Turkish occupation gave a mortal battle. In honor of his victory , events are organized each year on the 8th of May.
In Gravia is the historical tavern- "Hani", where visitors can tour the premisesand witness the presentation of the Battle by
means of virtual reality program.
Close to the village you can find the Cultural Center (old stone school) where a permanent exhibition entitled "Folklore and History" takes place.
